Skellig by Alex
By Kerep Class In Year 5 Pupil BlogAfter the Christmas holidays we started a new book called “Skellig”. It is about a boy and his parents who were going to have a baby. And they had to move houses. Nobody knows why, maybe because the house was too little for them to look after the baby. So they moved houses to a bigger one but not a nicer one. They’re new house was a piece of junk which will have to be cleaned for years but they started to do it. There was a garage that Micheal found curious, of course it was still that dirty and about to fall down but a council came and tried to persuade them that when they clean it, it would look better and they will be able to live there. One night Micheal went downstairs to see the garage. He slowly tiptoed past his parents bed and took a look downstairs… At one corner he saw something about his size moving, so he went closer and closer until the figure moving spoke: “What do you want?” he said in a sour voice and repeated it exactly the same way. At the end Micheal asked him “Do you want something?” “Aspirin and 32 and 58.” So he went up to bed and tried to sleep. However every-time he closed his eyes he imagined the man coming upstairs. So the next day they went to a Chinese restaurant and realized the numbers are from the menu so he said, “32 and 58.” That night when they ate and they went to bed he got downstairs and gave the old man aspirin and the food he asked for the previous day and went back to bed. The previous day he met a girl and became friends with her and also saw her sitting on a tree and holding a book. So Micheal shouted and she came to hi and said”YOU SCARED IT AWAY!”. And that is how he made his first friend in the town and new house.
