At Welbourne Primary School, we are committed to providing a safe and nurturing environment for all our pupils. Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is at the heart of our school’s vision and values, ensuring that every child can thrive and reach their full potential.
What is Safeguarding
Safeguarding is the action we take to promote the welfare of children and protect them from harm. It involves:
- Protecting children from maltreatment
- Preventing impairment of children’s mental and physical health or development
- Ensuring that children grow up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care
- Taking action to enable all children to have the best outcomes
Child Protection
Child Protection is a vital part of Safeguarding. It refers to the specific activities undertaken to protect children who are suffering, or are likely to suffer, significant harm.
